I arrived here in quite a hurry, feeling the time slipping away. But before I head back to the mainland, I knew I just had to experience this place. And let me tell you, the malasadas are nothing short of incredible! They were served fresh and piping hot, and each bite was absolutely delightful. If you’re ever in the area, this spot is an absolute must-try!

This is one of Hawaii’s most iconic desert shops. The line and weight was quite long and there’s not much shade. The filling was very generous and tasty, and it was super fresh and hot .

If you’re looking for fresh Portuguese donuts, this place can’t be beat. Known famously across the islands and in the mainland, Leonard’s serves up fresh hot malasadas to order. They don’t taste as good when they cool down. This location is the closest to the Waikiki area and there is limited parking no seating. There is always a line because they are made to order. It’s worth the wait frankly.

On our friends’ recommendation, we came here to try the malasadas. We arrived about 10 minutes before closing, but we were still able to buy everything we wanted. My favorite was the original flavor — just sprinkled with sugar — though for me it was a bit too sweet. Still, the dough and the baking itself were quite tasty. The chocolate one was also fine. But the coconut one, and the third flavor we tried (I don’t even remember which), really weren’t to my taste at all. Overall, though, it was interesting to try — it’s a popular and well-known spot. That’s why I’d recommend giving it a try. For me and all my friends, the most original flavor remained the favorite

Amazing, famous malasadas! Despite a line out the door, the service was quick and the food was even better! Our favorite was the original. The custard filled ones were a bit heavy and messy, but tasty nonetheless! Parking is very difficult so recommend either walking, or having someone drop you off to order while you circle around or park elsewhere!

Went around 4pm and waited 15-20 minutes. We got one of each flavor. TBH I only liked the cinnamon and custard ones. The other flavors just tasted very very light. They came out warm which was nice but they do not taste good when they’re not warm.

Amazing malasadas! We bought one of each flavors of the puffs and was not disappointed! Trying to find parking was difficult, parking space was very limited for there customers. But well worth the wait.

We got 4 filled no sugar on the outside and the cinnamon sugar and li hing sugar plain ones. My favourite was the li hing sugar one! The salty and sweet umami hit the spot. The malasadas are fluffy and slightly crisp but not overly oily. The filled ones were surprisingly not as sweet as I thought so we could have gotten them with the sugar outside but all the fillings were just ok. We got haupia, guava, lychee (flavor of month) and macadamia. None of the flavors were strong, mostly artificial tasting and brightly colored but it's to be expected for the price of 2.75 each. I would get the li hing sugar if I were to return. We ordered them online on a weekday evening and pick up was easy and there was parking for us to quickly try each one while they were still warm!
